If I were in sales today, I’d never pitch another product.

I’d show up having already solved the problem.

Here’s what most sales outreach looks like today:

  • Research the prospect (barely)
  • Send a generic, templated email. Attempt to personalize it based on basic research
  • Call them (again and again)
  • Pray they have enough pain to follow up with you
  • Do a generic demo and painstaking negotiation
  • Ping them a million times, trying to "check in" and close them

Here’s what AI lets you do instead:

  • Deep research with AI: the business, key stakeholders, competitors, and industry deeply
  • Design a solution to solve their problem with AI
  • Create truly custom outreach that shows them the solution
  • Watch their jaw drop
  • Sign the deal

The difference? One approach talks about value. The other delivers it before you even meet.

If I were selling websites: I wouldn’t show portfolio pieces. I’d build their new site first. "Hey Sarah, I redesigned your homepage. This should increase your conversions by 300%. Here’s the live preview."

If I were an SEO consultant: Skip the audit pitch. Run their site through AI, analyze their top 5 competitors, and find the gaps. "You’re missing 107 keywords your competitors rank for. Here’s exactly how to capture that traffic. Check out one of the blog articles I wrote for you."

If I sold CRM software: Forget the generic demo. Map out their entire customer journey using AI. "Based on your industry, here’s the exact system build out that’ll give your sales team 10x the transparency and cut your sales cycle by 30%. I already built it for you. Here’s your login."

If I ran a marketing agency: No more capability decks. Create their next campaign. "I noticed your competitor just launched X. Here’s a counter-campaign that’ll steal their thunder. Headlines, visuals, everything."

If I were an accountant: Don’t wait for their books. "I analyzed businesses like yours. You’re probably overpaying taxes by $32K annually. Here are the three deductions you might be missing."

If I sold HR software: Stop talking about features. "I built your employee onboarding flow. It’ll save your team 5 hours per new hire. Want to see it in action? Log in here."

The crazy part? This isn’t about being pushy or clever.

It’s about caring enough to do the work upfront.

With AI, you can do this in the time it would take for you to try cold calling the same person 15 times.

Think about it. When you show up having already solved someone’s problem, you’re saying something powerful: "I get you. I see what you need. And I’m already on it."

That’s not sales. That’s partnership.

The real shift here:

  • You’re not asking for their time to pitch. You’re asking for their time to hand them a solution.
  • You’re not hoping they’ll see the value. You’re showing them the value exists.
  • You’re not selling possibilities. You’re delivering realities.

Want to Try This Yourself? Here’s How to Start

Go to ChatGPT or Claude. Turn on deep research mode.

Feed it URLs:

  • Your prospect’s website
  • Their top 3 competitors
  • Their industry news
  • Whatever else you think is valuable in solving problems

Then ask for specific outputs:

  • "Show me what their ideal sales process looks like and which CRM objects they need."
  • "Build me a 90-day content strategy based on what their competitors are doing."
  • "Create me an image of a redesigned home page with compelling copy to solve for their customers."

In 10 minutes, you’ll have something 99% of salespeople don’t: A solution. Not a pitch.

Because here’s the truth: The best salespeople aren’t selling anymore.

They’re showing up as partners who’ve already started the work.
